Job Responsibilities
Under immediate supervision, on an assigned shift, receives instruction and training in caring for individuals with intellectual and devleopmental disabilities for a period of from 6 and not to exceed twelve months. Attends formal classes for instruction in routine nursing practices and and techniques to gain basic understanding in nature, cause, treatment and rehabilitation of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ensure compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) requirements when performing duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires ability to participate in and successfully complete a comprehensive training program. Requires ability to develop skills necessary to provide basic personal nursing care services and to participate in programs of care, treatment, and habilitation. Requires ability to understand and effectively carry out written and oral instructions. Requires ability to adjust to and function effectively in an environment with individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities. Requires abiity to write clear and concise statements of individual care, treatment and performance in accordance with approved guidelines.
Work Hours: Various Units, Shifts and Days Off
8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday during classroom training with other days/shifts as assigned.
Upon completion of classroom training, assignment to shift:
5:45 am - 2:00 pm
1:45 pm - 10:00pm
Every Third Weekend Off
Other days/shifts as assigned or required
